Colman Getty has unique experience in handling, promoting and organising literary awards. We run three of the UK's best-known book prizes: The Man Booker Prize for Fiction, The BBC Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction and the Forward Poetry Prizes and are frequently called upon to devise new prizes for clients.
Another area of expertise is our work with anniversary campaigns. In the last few years we have handled the Penguin 70th, the fortieth anniversary of the Booker Prize and the centenary of Ian Fleming's birth. These landmarks provide an opportunity for a range of PR, marketing, sponsorship and digital media activities to continue to build these famous brands. 2009 saw yet another iconic celebration when Big Ben reached its 150th year.
Our wider publishing portfolio involves us in high-profile events. These include The Children's Party at the Palace; World Book Day; National Poetry Day; The London Literary Festival and The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival. We are retained by award-winning Foyles, Europe's largest independent bookshop, and have worked with high street retailers, Waterstone's and Blackwells.Our work increasingly takes us into the international arena with projects such as the International Prize for Arabic Fiction, the Kalima Translation Project, the Abu Dhabi Book Fair and the KT Wong Foundation.
